Duba Plains Camp offers 5 custom tents, plus a separate 2-bedroom suite called the Duba Plains Suite, all designed by Dereck Joubert to blend into the woods and taking advantage of the formation and plot to shade and protect from the sun, as well as to evoke the old classic African safari style from the 1920s. It is the perfect getaway for a wildlife connoisseur with millions of animals in an almost endless pattern along the flood plains.
This is the area that National Geographic's owners, filmmakers, conservationists and explorers - Dereck and Beverly Joubert - chose as their home base. Great Plains Conservation is the sole operator in this concession and offers its guests the best opportunity for more private wildlife viewing.
Duba Plains develops a model that provides maximum benefits to the neighboring community, with funds from leases, jobs and other projects, such as Big Cats Caring for Communities, Lamps for Learning - solar jars - solar flasks) and Conservation Camp for Kids. This partnership ensures that these communities receive tangible and substantial benefits from wildlife conservation.
Ceiling fans, an environmentally friendly air conditioning system above the guest bed, along with a carefully thought-out design so that the tents maintain a suitable climate and temperature for good rest and relaxation.
