A heritage property, it was built in 1904 by the parents of Prince Souphanouvong, or the Red Prince as he is more popularly known, who became the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic from 1975 to 1986. The current owner and resident lovingly restored the property in 2002 preserving the timeless elegance of the original property while creating a sublime and luxurious boutique hotel that is one of Luang Prabang's "must see" properties. A hotel full of character and with a profound sense of place. Satri House offers a total of 31 rooms and suites, with 14 Deluxe rooms, 14 Junior Suites and 3 Satri House Suites. The hotel has beautiful gardens, 2 swimming pools, a full spa, a well-stocked library, restaurant and bar. The hotel also owns the Satri Boat, a traditional 5-cabin river boat that crosses the Mekong River from Luang Prabang.
