Mpala Jena Camp is an exclusive and refined tented camp located on a private concession within the Zambezi National Park area. Overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River shoreline, the four canvas tents for guest use have been strategically placed under the shade of a variety of indigenous trees, including Kigelia africana (sausage tree), Lonchocarpus capassa (rain tree) and Syzygium cordatum (water berry tree). The camp is named after the natural spring line, Mpala Jena, which runs through the center of the concession, and which attracts abundant wildlife throughout the year, especially during the drier months.
Mpala Jena” significa “Impala Blanco” y según los guarda parques locales del Parque Nacional, en el momento en que el Parque Nacional Zambezi fue separado del Parque Nacional de Victoria Falls y declarado Parque Nacional por derecho propio en 1979, se vio regularmente un impala albino “parecido a un espíritu” a lo largo de la orilla del río de la misma zona.
