Morgan’s Rock es parte de un proyecto de reforestación de 1,000 hectáreas y una reserva privada de 800 hectáreas. Se han plantado más de 2 millones de árboles frutales y de frondosas durante los últimos diez años para acelerar el retorno de la tierra a su estado natural como ecosistema. En 2004, los propietarios decidieron construir el hotel con el mínimo impacto ambiental, a fin de preservar la naturaleza y los animales en los alrededores.
It has 15 bungalows and 3 villas with private pools, a nature reserve and an estuary; it is home to a wide variety of forest animals, from howler monkeys and sloths to white-tailed deer and many birds native to this subtropical region. The mile-long private beach is a nesting site for endangered turtles.
Some of the sustainable environmental practices implemented at the lodge include the use of solar panels to heat water in the bungalows, support for local communities through education and donation of supplies to area schools, and most of the produce used in the lodge's kitchen is grown and raised organically on the property, including a variety of fruits, dairy products, poultry and shrimp.
