Location: Okavango in Botswana
Duba Explorers Camp, in northeastern Botswana, is tucked away in the northeastern corner of the Duba Plains Concession, a 77,000-acre private reserve in the Okavango Delta. Due to its location in the northern part of the Okavango, the surrounding area is dominated by alluvial plains, interspersed with floodplains and seasonal grasslands and clusters of mopane and acacia woodlands.
Duba Explorers Camp is situated on an island surrounded on all sides by the pristine Okavango Delta and enjoys its own separate bushveld area, separate from Duba Plains. Camping under lush jackalberry or African ebony trees, mangostan and sycamore or ficus trees the camp is shaded all year round. The camp's location offers unobstructed and unobstructed views of the surrounding waterways and allows cool breezes to blow through the camp and guest tents. The camp consists of five airy canvas tents on stylishly decorated raised platforms with a private desk, deck and bathroom. Guests wake up to a panoramic view of the floodplains.
In the area, during the flood season, the water channels connect to the open water filled with blooming water lilies and tall papyrus trees. The main area is located under the tent canvas, on a raised deck with an open dining and lounge area.
While staying at Duba Explorers Camp, guests will take on the experiences of early adventurers. They will explore the waterways along the Ngoga River by boat or in traditional canoes (mokoro), meandering through channels created by hippos and elephants. The mokoro allows you to glide silently through the canal systems and venture through a world of water with no disturbances around you.
